On Thursday 7th November, we held our second Charity Quiz, and we’re proud to say that the event was a big success. We chose to raise money for The Harry Johnson Trust, and raised a total of £1,140, which then was very generously doubled by Rob Stone from Instaloft. We want to thank everyone who participated in the quiz and contributed towards a very worthy cause.
The Harry Johnson Trust
Our pub-style quiz had a massive 19 teams this year, with raffle prizes to be won too. The evening was held as a fundraiser for The Harry Johnson Trust, a charity set up to offer support to children and teenagers with cancer. The charity helps children and their families in a broad range of ways, including providing useful hampers for hospital stays, holidays and family fun, memory quilts or bears, and more.
As a local charity with strong connections to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, The Harry Johnson Trust is a cause that we are passionate about at ChadStone. The money raised at the quiz will be used to help the volunteer-run charity provide for many children and their families.
We’d like to say a massive thanks to all of the companies and people in attendance, including: Q Commercial Finance, PBS Creative, MyWorkWear, Blossom and Bee Beauty, Codebreak, Glassy Lady, Belvoir Estate Agents and Letting Agents, Mrs Mopp Cleaning Services, Martin Kaye Solicitors, UK Tinting, WS Building Services, Moules Consultancy Services, Hatcher’s Solicitors, Silent Owl Trading Limited, RD Engineering Solutions, BCRS Business Loans, Will and Lesley Stone, and ChadStone’s friends. Everyone helped to make the evening a success and ensured that everyone in attendance had lots of fun.
With nearly 20 teams and up to five people to a team, the competition was tough. A lot of fun was had while the questions were asked and answered, before it was time to add up the scores and find out which team were the victors. We have to say that there are some very brainy business people in the local area!
Codebreak were our deserving quiz winners, but not before a tense tie-break with Hatcher’s Solicitors. Instaloft were the losing team, but they still went home with our famous losing spoon, so they didn’t leave empty-handed.
A Fantastic Evening
We would also really like to thank Hadley Park House Hotel in Telford, who hosted us for the evening. They made everyone feel welcome throughout the evening, and it was a pleasure to be able to hold the event at the hotel.
Speaking about the event, our very own Alex Stone said: “What a fantastic evening we all had at our charity quiz! We can’t believe how much raised for The Harry Johnson Trust – a great cause. A huge thank you to all who came and donated and we hope you can all join us at next year’s quiz!”
We can’t wait until next year’s Charity Quiz, and we hope that you will be along to join us and raise more money for a good cause.
